Wednesday 7th September
The very heavy rain at times since Sunday morning and the odd rumble of thunder did not do much to the water level as the wind was coming in from the east, it put it up to about 7 inch by Tuesday but the rain was pretty constant and heavy at times and put the river up on Wednesday to 4ft, we then had Thursday 1ft 6, Friday 1ft 6 rising to 2ft, Saturday 1ft 3 inch and dropping, had we had the rain from the west the river would have been un fishably high the first three days.
I fished a couple of hours Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday, mornings on the Gledfield beat and was pleased to land salmon of 7lb,7lb & a 6lb grilse and lose one other, the fish were caught in the Gledfield pool and Gledfield run.
Graham Grant landed a 5lb Grilse in the Kennel run on the Friday, we already need more water so will see what this week brings.
