Weeks Total 2

Week beginning April 4th. Graeme McPherson & party.

Mon 4th. Heavy rain yesterday and over night resulted in a big river it continued to rain but we had a good fall of snow on the tops, the river this morning early on was around 5ft 8 inch it dropped around lunch to a big but fishable river. Ernie MacKay got things going landing a couple of salmon at 9lb and 8.5 lb in the Gledfield pool.

Tues. The river was 2ft in afternoon Ernie MacKay landed an 8lb Salmon in the Gledfield and followed up with a n 8 pounder in the Lairds cast, Graeme McPherson caught a 7lb Salmon in the Clump pool.

Wed 6th. The river was back up to 2ft 6inch seeing less fish  showing today fish appear to be running hard upriver on this big water after having four and a half weeks of very low water for this time of year snow falling at low levels with frequent sleet showers

Thur 7th. The river was already big and rising and was fished but by early afternoon it was up to 4ft 9 inch, and the lads packed in early.

Fri 8th.   The water level today was 1ft 9 inch very quiet only one fish seen a good indicator that fish have their heads down and are running fast as sea liced salmon were caught 4 miles upstream. Stewart Howie had particularly bad luck losing two fish in the Clump pool one in the morning and one in the afternoon, one of the almost at the net.

Sat 9th. The water level today was 1ft6 inch dropping to 1ft 4 inch again very quiet nothing seen, In late afternoon Allan Donaldson caught an 8 lb Salmon carrying a few sea lice in the Lairds cast. turning pretty cold with hail showers.
